Ezekiel – Class of 2012

We had a great and very productive shoot with Ezekiel this past weekend. He wanted to shoot with the Portland cityscape in the background. I like shoots like this because they are technically challenging. We used two speed lights for this shot. One highly defused and the second snooted. The lighting on Zeek is exactly as I wanted it however the sky surprisingly turned pink and purple. I’ll post more images from this shoot in another post!

Sports Portrait With Jeff

Jeff is a great guy. He is a utility player and plays any position he is needed to play. He’ll also be moving on to play baseball in college next year although he hasn’t decided where yet. As is always the case, I thoroughly enjoyed creating his sports portrait. Best wishes for next year Jeff!

Sports Portraits of Two Pitchers

I really enjoyed shooting with Kody and Alex, two pitchers from Skyview High School in Vancouver, WA. Both guys will be attending college at the University of Portland next year. We’re wishing them all the best.

Kevin – Class of 2011

A while back I needed an athlete to create an image that I had on my mind. I asked my son if he knew anyone and the first person mentioned, the only person he mentioned for the shoot was Kevin. Since that day, we’ve been friends with Kevin and his family. I’ve shot with Kevin on many occasions and we’ve always made awesome images. I was truly stoked when I was asked to create his senior portraits. We wish you all the best at Columbia University Kevin!

Unusual Venue

I followed the Skyview Storm basketball team to the Rose Garden to photograph their game against the Prairie Falcons. This was quite a venue to play a regular season high school game at. Many thanks to the Portland Trailblazers for giving the players a taste of what it is like to play in the Rose Garden. I’m sure they will always remember it!

Megan – Class of 2011

Megan chose to shoot her senior portraits at Kline Line Park. This is a great outdoor location for senior portraits. The day we shot happened to be one of the hottest days of the year. No worries, we all had a great time and made some great images. Ryan and Megan’s sister, Miranda, were photo assistants for this shoot.

Sierra – Class of 2011

Sierra knew that she wanted to have her senior portraits created with the city in the background. We couldn’t find any acceptable locations in Vancouver, WA for a city backdrop but we did find this spot with Portland, OR in the background! Sierra and her mom went to check it out and approved it for the shoot. We had a great time shooting through sunset and into the darkness and came back with killer images!

Behind-The-Scenes Of A Sports Portrait

Many people wonder what goes on behind the scenes of a sports portrait. Our sportraits are very stylized and our lighting is very exact. When we say that we conduct sports portrait shoots like we do a commercial or editorial shoot, we mean it. The image below will give you a glimpse.

Sportrait In The New Doc Harris Stadium

I was lucky to be able to shoot a Sportrait at the new Doc Harris Stadium in Camas WA. Dylan is a kicker and a lineman on the Camas football team and is a friend of my youngest son. The new stadium, which holds 3000 fans, was built just in time for the beginning of this year’s football season. To see more photos of the stadium, you can visit Bryan Levesque’s GSHLFootball.com. This shoot was tough because of how dark it was. Check out the clouds!

We are episode #2.
